How to Market Your Online Instruction
Social Media
Social media is one of the most effective channels to get the word out about your upcoming classes and online services. We recommend posting all your classes to Facebook and Twitter, immediately after you create them and in the days leading up to the start. If you have a blog, a quick posting about your class will engage your audience.
Make sure to let people know about your class recordings as well. The more people that start attending the more you will get coming back!
E-mail & Newsletter Marketing
At the bottom of your e-mail signature (and blog posts) place info about your Learn, It Live expert page (with a link). For example:
“Attend my online classes at Learn It Live”
“Meet with me online. Find my classes at Learn It Live”
If you have an e-mail newsletter, make sure to include your upcoming classes in your communication.
Promotional Materials
Web: Learn It Live will provide you banners to place on your website or Facebook page. Banners can be animated or static and will link to your expert page or classes.
Print: Learn It Live will provide you with cards, flyers, and other printable materials you can use to promote yourself in your community. We have fantastic designers that can help you build your brand. Get in touch with marketing@learnitlive.com with a request and we’ll work out the best approach.
During Your Online Class
Your online classes give you the unique opportunity to directly engage and talk with your audience. Make sure to seize this opportunity by preparing an intro and closing slide informing learners of your future classes. At the beginning and end of a free (promo) class, you should also let learners know the extra benefits that come from attending a paid one and ask them to leave feedback and a review (they will receive an email asking for this information).
How To Get Started?
Sign Up and Start Building Your Expert Page
Your expert page will list your information (background, photo, and video), and will showcase your online instruction to the world. It’s a new way to extend your brand, and we’ll support you however needed. Email marketing@learnitlive.com for more information on how we can help.
Learn Some Tips and Tricks in Online Training
We want you to be highly successful, and that is why we offer free online training for all experts that we work with. Attend a training class to learn some of the more advanced features of Learn It Live and the virtual classroom. Make sure to practice by logging into your account and going to “Launch Test Session” under your profile picture.
Create Classes -- Free First (and then paid)
One of the most-effective approaches is to do your first few sessions for free, to get comfortable with the system, and begin to promote your services to your user base. Once you have given a few classes and promoted your expert page, it’s time to start charging (after 2-3 sessions). At this point, you can continue giving promotional classes as you see fit.
Promote and Tweak
Get the word out! Let your user base, your friends and your family know, and have them let their friends and contacts know. Get feedback and see what people enjoyed and what they want more of. Experiment with different promotions and topics to find what works best for you.
Learn It Live. It’s as good as being there.
